We have partnered with a dynamic and rapidly developing gold producer committed to sustainable mining practices and responsible resource development. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Open Pit Mine Geologist to join their dynamic team currently in place. You will play a crucial role in the planning, development, and optimisation of their Open Pit mining operations, focusing on geological mapping, resource modeling, and ore grade control.
The Role
- Provide geological guidance and support during drill and blast operations to ensure optimal fragmentation and ore recovery.
- Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and interpretation to support mine planning and production activities.
- Collaborate with mine engineering and operations teams to develop short and long term mine plans that maximise ore recovery and minimize dilution.
- Monitor ore grade control processes and implement strategies to maintain grade quality and optimize mill feed.
- Conduct regular geological audits and reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in mining practices.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior Geologists and technicians.
For consideration we require;
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Open Pit mining, with a focus on Au deposits.
- Strong understanding of geological modeling software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan etc). Experience with grade control, ore reconciliation, and resource estimation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical conduct.
