Their work is vital in ensuring the safety and reliability of electricity transmission and distribution assets for their partners.
About The Roles
We are hiring for three key positions: two Senior Engineers and one Lead Engineer in Electrical Engineering. These roles report to the Engineering Manager and are integral to the development and delivery of technical design work in the power sector. Each role involves leading technical initiatives, creating technical intellectual property such as specifications and standards, and mentoring discipline engineers. You will ensure accurate and timely design solutions for tender deliverables, apply value engineering principles, manage risks, and support project delivery.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including operations staff, key clients, and external design consultants, will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and maintain technical standards and designs.
- Mentor and develop engineers at various levels.
- Balance cost, time, and quality outcomes in design to benefit our client and their clients during both concept and detailed design stages.
- Provide innovative solutions to save cost and time.
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes.
- Navigate tendering systems and bid processes.
- Build solid relationships by understanding customer drivers and needs.
- Pass on industry knowledge from the power industry.
- Maintain a good knowledge of national and international technical standards related to engineering design.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in design and design management for energy networks or related sectors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to represent our client effectively to customers.
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
- Extensive experience in primary and secondary concept and detailed design.
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Experience working in bid teams.
- Experience in solution development and innovation.
- Experience in constructability reviews and the construction industry.
- Proven ability to build and maintain working relationships within teams and with external parties.
- Extensive experience in a similar role with a proven track record.
- Experience working with high voltage systems, specifically 313kV and above.
