As a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer - Dams & Tailings with Worley Consulting, you will work closely with our existing specialist team. Our Geoscience Practice is growing, with offices across Australia in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. We partner with our clients on their full project journey - from conceptual studies and planning, right through to decommissioning and restoration.
You will have the opportunity to put your consulting experience to good use on a range of projects both domestically and internationally, for a variety of established clients. You will work in a collaborative environment where knowledge transfer is essential, and you will assist with mentoring junior engineers on their career journey. We have numerous pathways for our Senior or Principal Engineers, with options for Technical, People and Project Leadership depending on your preference and skill set.

What you'll do
The role responsibilities include:
Geotechnical Site Investigation for dams and tailing dams.
Water Storage Facility (WSF) design or tailings Storage Facility (TSF) design.
Dam break and hydrology (understanding).
Geohydrology (understanding).
Impact of seismic event on structures .
Seepage and stability modelling.
Understanding flow and seismic liquefaction .
Understand the environmental impacts.
Possible piping though embankment and foundation based on different soil types.
Function of different soil zones within a dam embankment.
Construction material assessment and construction support/management.
Geotechnical and Operational review of TSF's or dams according to the latest international guidelines.
Construction specifications.
Material take-off.
Preparation of detail design construction drawings.
Dam safety reviews/audits and operational support.
Project management, resourcing and execution.
Client liaison and building relationships
What you'll have
A tertiary qualification in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering that is recognised by the Washington Accord.
Experience working in a consulting environment on Water Dams and/or Tailings Dams projects.
A passion and enthusiasm for delivering projects to a high quality in a collaborative manner.
Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
