We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Organisational Effectiveness Consultant (Organisational Design) within our HR team on a 12-month maximum term contract.


About this role

As the Senior Organisational Effectiveness Consultant, you will be accountable for providing subject matter expert advice, counsel and guidance in Organisational Design, and lead the design, development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of fit for purpose people and organisational systems and solutions.

You will work with the HR team and key business stakeholders on specific projects to design and lead the implementation of operating models, work and role design. The focus of this position is working with and influencing the business in understanding what the needs are and then to ensure that the right tools are designed, developed and implemented to achieve their people and organisational objectives now and in the future. Another key objective of this role is to develop an internal Organisational Design capability.

You will also require knowledge and/or experience working in a Strategic HR context, including other key areas such as organisational development, talent management, strategic workforce planning, learning and development and diversity and inclusion. This is to ensure that solutions align with and support the broader People Strategy.

  • Design and deliver subject matter related frameworks and initiatives in consultation with senior stakeholders both within and outside of HR
  • Provide contemporary best practice advice and guidance as required
  • Accountable for the end-to-end development and implementation of activities within an organisational design context. Specific activities will be identified and agreed through the setting of individual performance objectives, which will cascade from the business and people strategies.
  • Develop procedures, content and implementation plans, and provide coaching & support to ensure successful outcomes
  • Applies Western Power's standards and systems relevant to the HR discipline and business generally
  • Identifies, develops and reviews opportunities to introduce innovative or more efficient methods or systems in collaboration with the broader team and function

About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Degree in Human Resources/Business (HR major)/Organisational Psychology - or extensive practical experience
  • Extensive and demonstrated level of knowledge and expertise in Organisational Design, with broad exposure to specialist areas such as including contemporary Organisational Effectiveness, organisational design, learning, leadership development and talent management knowledge and skills
  • Extensive experience working within a contemporary Human Resources environment in designing, developing and delivering business wide initiatives and activities
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Advanced change management / stakeholder engagement experience and skills
  • Strong consulting and influencing skills where the interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing and motivating people and changing behaviour.
