About the role

  • The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality, evidence-based orthoptic services across the continuum of care to patients and families of Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS), as part of an interprofessional, collaborative team
About you

Knowledge, skills and expertise
Clinical Practice
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in delivering Orthoptic clinical service to patients within the Ophthalmology Service.
Communication
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and participate effectively in the Orthoptic and interdisciplinary teams including the ability to provide high level clinical advice to supervisors, key service managers and stakeholders and with an ability to adequately address and manage conflict.
Leadership and Management
  • Demonstrated ability to provide supervision, training and support to less experienced practitioners and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide Orthoptic clinical services of a complex nature including rapid prioritisation, management, and discharge planning of patients in a complex clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives.
