Our Frenchs Forest clinic is located nearby Northern Beaches Hospital and our team is dedicated to offering the Northern Beaches community evidence-based treatments delivered in a multidisciplinary care environment.
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Patient Services Officer to join us.
As the Senior Patient Services Officer, you are responsible for the leadership of the Administration team (within the designated centre) in the delivery of high-quality patient centred services. This is a hands-on role, responsible for providing direction on daily matters pertaining to reception, patient administration and patient accounts services.
More specifically, you will:
- Provide direction, supervision, support and recognition of staff activities
- Promote collaboration, cooperation and teamwork through effective leadership and management strategies
- Supervision of all Patient Services staff within the designated Centre
- Preparation of staff rosters in conjunction with the Centre Leader
- Assisting the Centre Leader in the recruitment of suitably experienced staff
- Conducting staff inductions at the centre level in conjunction with the Centre Leader.
- Working with Centre Leader on various ad hoc projects and carrying out actions as directed.
- Have a clear understanding of the patient registration and billing systems and the related billing processes.
- Have a clear understanding of the funding mechanisms related to inpatient and outpatient billings including debt management, Private Health Fund claims, Medicare and the Medicare Safety Net.

- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a small team
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a healthcare environment
- Strong experience in medical administration and reception management
- Strong management and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with and effectively influence staff & patients
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to provide excellent leadership in line with the organisation’s values.
- A collaborative approach to delivering exceptional patient centred services.
