Senior Performance Lead – Cloud FinOps
About the role
As the Senior Performance Lead in the Cloud FinOps Team your core activities will be to provide specialised support to Cloud stakeholders to:

• Proactively manage the cost associated with their consumption of the cloud service to drive the best possible outcome for their business.
• Develop the maturity of FinOps capabilities to enable self-serve Cloud cost management.

FinOps is an operational framework and cultural practice which maximises the business value of cloud. FinOps enables data-driven decision making, and creates financial accountability through collaboration between engineering, finance, and business teams
You will be the flag bearer in promoting FinOps practices in the organisation and as such this role will suit someone with strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud cost optimisation.
You will have experience in Cloudability or a similar cost monitoring tool as you will be proactively managing Cloud cost, collaborating with diverse teams across CBA to optimise cloud consumption and improve governance.
Key Responsibilities

• Navigating people and process to drive towards bank’s Cloud optimisation objectives.
• Own planning and execution of the Cloud optimisation initiatives
• Educate on FinOps practices.
• Promote the use of self-service reporting platforms.
• Present to leaders and senior stakeholders on FinOps wins, insights and recommendations.
• Drive good practice around Cloud cost budgeting, forecasting and tracking.
• Use Cloud cost management tools to build spend trend and insight as required.
• Key stakeholder management including vendor relationships.

Key skills

• A bias towards action and process improvement
• A healthy level of curiosity and ability to learn quickly on Cloud services and pricing models.
• Deep analytical, critical thinking and quantitative skills
• Familiarity with commercial mechanism to drive cost savings across Azure and AWS
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or Azure Cloud Foundation and FinOps certification required.
• Strong stakeholder management skills
