AddressThe Michael J Cousins Pain Management & Research Centre at Royal North Shore Hospital is looking for an experienced physiotherapist for 2 days per week to join their established inter-disciplinary team of pain specialist doctors, clinical psychologists, nurses and physiotherapists offering care to people with complex pain conditions. This role will have a particular focus on assisting people who have complex pain issues related to comorbid diseases, including who are approaching the end of their lives. What you'll be doing
You will work within the inter-disciplinary team providing high quality comprehensive musculoskeletal assessments, within a biopsychosocial framework, and advising on care using best practice guidelines. This will predominately be in the outpatient setting with either individual intervention sessions and/or group cognitive behavioural Pain Management programs being offered, both via face to face and/or telehealth.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Full registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and current AHPRA registration. Evidence of extensive clinical experience in the delivery of physiotherapy services for patients with complex chronic pain conditions at a minimum of a Level 2 Physiotherapist.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive musculoskeletal assessments, within a biopsychosocial framework, of patients referred to the MJC PMRC and advise on appropriate management as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Proven ability to conduct individual interventions, both face to face and via telehealth, in keeping with current evidence-based treatments for chronic pain. Demonstrated ability to implement the physiotherapy and education components of group cognitive behavioural Pain Management programs as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborates and participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team using appropriate communication skills. Demonstrated excellent organisational, time management and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting service development, quality improvement activities, and professional education.
