Reporting to the General Manager, the Senior Physiotherapist is responsible for working in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of home-based physiotherapy services. This includes clinical assessment and clinical intervention for various movement related dysfunction, neurological, musculoskeletal disorders and pain related conditions to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality Physiotherapy assessment and intervention for clients within the context of primary health care in a professional, confidential and culturally safe manner, in keeping with accepted best practice standards
- Ensure integrated service delivery and follow up, coordinating and communicating as required with other relevant internal, visiting and external provider
- Optimise independent functioning in all aspects of daily living by promoting and delivering a well being and restorative approach to care involving assessment early detection and health promotion
- Incorporate holistic approach to health care that incorporates health promotion activities according to community and organisational priorities
- Deliver education sessions to clients participating in health education programs and in-service education in areas relevant to Physiotherapy service provision as required
- Conduct home based Physiotherapy assessments including all areas of activities of daily living, mobility and home safety
- Promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social well-being, taking account of client goals and preferences.
- Deliver optimal health outcomes that are proactive, innovative and of high quality within scope of practice and discipline specific regulations and requirements.
- Ensure recommendations meet all legal requirements, and that information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner and that all records are maintained in accordance with pre-agreed standards
About You
The ideal candidate must demonstrate the following:
- Bachelor degree in physiotherapy
- Minimum 3 years experience working in Aged Care
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality physiotherapy assessment and intervention for clients
- Broad understanding of the Commonwealth and State Health Service system
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and key stakeholders
- Ability to establishing trust and rapport, maintaining confidentiality and record keeping
- Strong written communication skills including the ability to produce accurate client files, develop referral documentation and communicate to other health providers
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
- Current COVID Vaccination (Mandatory)
