The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Piping Designer to join our Networks team in Eagle Farm QLD, Kidman Park SA or Thomastown VIC, on a Permanent Fulltime basis.

Reporting to the Team Lead - Design Drafting, you will provide Piping and Mechanical design and drafting services to the organisation on a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the design from concept through to construction using 2D/3D AutoCAD / Plant 3D to generate the project deliverables
  • Support of the engineers with development of design drawings, and associated deliverables
  • Prepare detailed design, drawing packages, and associated deliverables, for construction, installation and commissioning
  • Produce as-built drawings to enable field technicians to perform maintenance, checks and repairs to plant over the asset lifecycle
  • Act as the liaison between the internal customers and the drafting team to ensure they receive service in a timely manner

Your background

  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline or trade
  • Strong experience in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)2D/3D and software packages applicable to a design drawing office
  • Quality experience in the field of mechanical, piping and structural drafting
  • Certification from an accredited training provider in the relevant discipline application software (Autodesk, Bentley etc.)
  • Excellent understanding of relevant mechanical and piping codes, including AS 2885, ASME B31.3, AS4041

Networks manages and operates transmission pipelines and local distribution networks that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.

Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
