Job description

We have an exciting Senior PowerBI Developer (PBI) opportunity to join our Global Reward team where you will be responsible for the enhancement and creation of Remuneration PBI reports and dashboards. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of Macquarie Global Reward transformation - one in which your work will inform the decisions of Macquarie's most senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of PBI reports and dashboards on Remuneration trends for senior management, global reward team and HR professionals
  • Build complex queries using SQL and data models in Power BI that support the end design
  • Set up and maintain Global Reward PBI Security (RLS, AD Groups and Workspaces)
  • Optimize existing Power Queries and Dataflows
  • Work with HR Technology teams to understand data issues and develop plans to remedy and test solutions
  • Assist with the engineering requirements when the new reward system and HR datalake is live
  • Document and explain assumptions and steps of data queries / models
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to identify new areas for analysis and changes to processes that improve accuracy and consistency of HR data
About you

With a passion for data and optimising efficiencies, you are analytically minded with strong attention to detail and accuracy. You pride yourself on your problem-solving skills and approach new problems with enthusiasm. To excel in this role, you will be:
  • proficient in SQL,
  • ideally have experience using Power BI (including dataflows, Power Query M, and DAX),
  • proficient in data preparation and integration,
  • have experience with complex RLS implementation in Power BI,
  • detail focused and proud of your sense of accuracy,
  • able to understand and translate technical requirements into non-technical language,
  • able to document outcomes of business and data analysis in a clear and concise manner,
  • have a 'Can do', proactive attitude, with a proven record of delivering project outcomes,
  • a natural collaborator with a learning mindset, happy to share knowledge and learn from others
  • experience in a large global organisation (preferably in financial services)
Other considerations which would be advantageous to the role, but are not essential:
  • experience with HR Data, Remuneration Data and/or financial data,
  • experience with data warehousing and data modelling,
  • familiarity with data architecture concepts and a good grasp of what a good architecture looks like

Please note, we are working 2-3 days per week in the Sydney office and from home. With this in mind, you'll ideally be Sydney based and be comfortable with a hybrid work arrangement.
