As a Senior Product Designer, your role will be to define and drive the future of Qantas Loyalty design. You will co-design product strategy, envision complex UX & UI ecosystems and inspire teams to push the boundaries of what is possible. You'll possess a clear vision of the future for our customers and people and have the courage to pursue forward-thinking design. You will apply your passion for brand, craft, and design fidelity to direct research and design processes, mentor talented members of your team, and collaborate with leaders of other product and engineering teams to create innovative experiences across the product ecosystem we are responsible for.

The role is designed to span across both experience as well as visual design to ensure there is one voice for our customer by tribe within Qantas Loyalty. To be successful in this role you will need to align customer needs, business goals and technology platforms and champion the customer experience both from within a Qantas Loyalty Tribe as well as connected across the Loyalty ecosystem.

You'll have

  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with demonstrated product leadership roles and exposure to high growth and fast paced environment.
  • Tertiary qualification - BS or MS in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Information Science, Anthropology, Psychology, Architecture; or BS in Computer Science with emphasis on UX development; or BA in Graphic Design with emphasis on UX design (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience designing UI/UX from conception to minimum viable products to scaled launch & adoption.
  • Expertise in building interactive prototypes to illustrate UX & UI design for web sites and mobile apps using modern technologies.
  • Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams of product managers, strategic, visual, and motion designers, and engineers.
  • A demonstrated history of accountability and performance delivery, leading products to meet or exceed objectives.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to operate collaboratively with all levels of the organisation.
  • A commercial mindset to identify opportunities that align to the strategic vision and mission of the squad/tribe.
  • Knowledge and experience with Design Thinking and Agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Design Thinking / HCD, Lean).
  • Understanding of accessibility principles and their application in a range of digital products and devices.
  • Experience with using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Figma, Miro, Askable, UserZoom/UserTestin.com, etc.
  • Passionate about solving customer problems through world class design aspiration and be open to design jam and critique.
  • Proficiency in Google analytics/Data analytics will be highly regarded
  • Ability to work in a team and matrix environment and be able to collaborate and communicate effectively that realises engagement of peers and transparency of approach.
  • Ability to iterate concepts and designs to realise business metrics and outcomes.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for product iteration vs evolution.
  • Ability to understand what best practice ways of working are and to apply where possible throughout design process.
  • Creative problem solving and strong communication skills.
