Form of workA new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Development Engineer to join a reputable renewable energy company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the approval of engineering specifications, engineering reports, mechanical calculations, design layouts, production drawings and cost estimates. The role is responsible for the requirements definition and development of reference designs for new Mechanical systems to be incorporated into a design baseline.
Key Position Accountabilities: Coordinate all related Product Development activities: from product design, development, manufacturing and product validation
Provide support to process and production engineering when required
Design, develop and test complex mechanical systems
Perform 3D modelling, including wiring harness routing, and 2D drawings
Complete design and analysis of enclosures and structures, ensuring compliance to project scope and legal requirements
Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders and suppliers, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
Monitor project safety and ensure safety control measuresare in place where appropriate
Ability to complete tasks independently and supervise junior team members as required
Create and update manufacturing documentation including product manual, work instruction, checklist and forms Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (desirable)5 years Product Development experience5 year experience in CAD software (CREO preferred)5 year experience in WindchillFEA and CFD simulation fundamental knowledge
Systems engineering experience
Sound time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong presentation skills
