Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer who has strong leadership skills and project management experience to join our team. The Senior Project Engineer role is regionally located and reports to Grower Relations and Strategic Initiative Manager.
As the Senior Project Engineer you will be responsible for supporting capital, operational improvement and major maintenance projects to ensure Wilmar's cane railway assets and resources are capable of meeting defined business requirements. The ideal candidate will be analytical and systematic, with good communication, negotiating and record keeping capabilities. You will have previous project management experience and will demonstrate high levels of proficiency in the use of MS Microsoft Office Suite and SAP (or similar)

The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will:
Coordinate and manage capital projects including administration, capital funding and cash flow budget processes and project management personnel.
Develop and implement an effective capital strategy to meet project, corporate and business objectives for cane railway infrastructure
Ensure that business processes associated with projects are completed effectively to meet corporate and business objectives
Support and mentor the project team, manage its performance and monitor compliance.
Provide technical engineering support and expert advice when required.
Manage contractors and ensure projects are delivered according to agreed timeframe, outcomes, and financial plans.
Contribute to improving safety behaviour and awareness by making sure the team adheres to site safety policies and identifies safety breaches.
Strive for best practice safety, project execution and cost performance through continuous interaction with the site teams.
Ensure compliance with relevant business codes of conduct, statutory acts and regulations
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications/Experience
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering Discipline or equivalent practical experience.
Project Management Experience in heavy industrial environment
Experience in managing multi-disciplined projects
Possess high level oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and safety
