Form of workSydney Water have partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) to deliver; design, construct, maintenance and facilities management services as part of the P4S program in Sydney Water's Southern Region of Sydney.
D4C is a consortium comprising of John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. We will provide long term employment opportunities to diversify the skills of the people of the southern region of Sydney as well as creating pathways to enter the water industry.
D4C is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Construction to join their expanding team delivering excellence in the Treatment program of works.
What this role will entail?
This role includes working closely with Construction Leads to ensure consistent, accurate and timely project outcomes are achieved and shared across the region. Construction Engineers will be undertaking various projects including the upgrade of mechanical, electrical, civil and process related assets on existing brownfield operating Wastewater Treatment Plants.
The work includes but is not limited to inlet works, PST renewals, dewatering upgrades, ventilation, odour control, clarifier refurbishment, and Cogen upgrades.
As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll be delivering Treatment projects and your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Supporting Construction Leads to ensure allocated projects are delivered to scope within time, cost, quality and regulatory standards.
- Setting daily, weekly and long-term project programs to achieve required project outputs with plant, labour, materials and resources.
- Monitor and review costs, invoices and claims for allocated projects
- Contributing to the constructability of a project with respect to design development
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers to ensure project objectives are achieved
- Undertaking tender, evaluation, and award of subcontract procurement packages
- Monitor the quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material against drawings and specifications and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary as per Inspection and Test Plans.
- Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting
- Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of self-perform workforce and subcontractors to achieve outcomes
- Liaise and coordinate with all external parties and relevant statutory authorities and manage their attendance on site as necessary.
- Contribute to and foster a good safety, quality, environment and a community culture with a view to deliver differently.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent
- Minimum 5-8 years' engineering experience
- Pre-contracts knowledge in relation to design, planning and legislative requirements
- Demonstrated leadership in health, safety, quality and environmental management
- Client relationship and stakeholder management experience
- Highly competent with MS office
- Drivers licence
- White card
