As our Senior Project Engineer - Civil specialisation, you will bring your specialised skills in Civil and technical engineering to provide expert guidance and technology leadership to on-site construction and engineering delivery teams on major projects. You will collaborate closely with contractors and ensure that project objectives are met while optimising quality, cost-efficiency and timeline for successful project delivery.

And you'll do it with down-to-earth people who you're proud to work with and get to know. Here's how:

• Offer specialised technical expertise to ensure optimal delivery of the project Lead and participate in technical asset investigations, addressing highly complex problems with no precedents requiring in depth analysis and cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure that all design standards, installation and new technology align to the businesses safety policies and standards.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, hazards and controls to enhance safety performance.
• Take the lead in managing changes related to enhanced design standards, installations and adoption of new technology.
• Maintain professional knowledge around existing and emerging technology, leading best practices and contemporary applications of design standards.

You will be required to frequently travel to remote regional North Queensland construction sites and once our construction phase commences you will need to participate in a FIFO construction roster

You will be joining an experienced and dynamic project delivery team in our corporate CopperSting office based in Bowen Hills. Once our construction phase starts you will be required to participate in a site FIFO construction roster based on our construction sites in Regional North Queensland.

CopperString 2032 is the largest ever economic development project in North Queensland, and one of the largest expansions to the power grid in Australia.

The CopperString project will build 840 kilometres of transmission line from just south of Townsville in the Burdekin region to Mount Isa with the highest voltage levels in the state.

This project will further unlock the renewable energy potential of this region.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural engineering.
• Proven experience in Civil engineering, construction and project management or other relevant technical roles preferably within the energy, infrastructure or transmission sectors.
• Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) in Civil/Structural Engineering

We'd also love you to have:

• Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering calculation and analysis techniques with proven ability in problem solving and applying advanced engineering design expertise.
• Proven ability to influence project outcomes and resolve technical problems through technical innovation.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the High Voltage industry key trends and understanding of the application of new technology.
• High level of written and oral communication ability along with the ability to engage customer and stakeholders and implement customer focussed projects.

You will need to have the ability to work on remote regional Queensland based construction sites as per an on-site construction roster. You will also need to have an open C-class drivers licence for manual vehicles.
