We are currently seeking a senior project engineer to lead our South Australian stay in business (SIB) capital project portfolio.
About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Services Lead SA/WA, this role will deliver an assigned capital project portfolio across all SA assets which will identify, scope, and manage a wide variety of projects including greenfield projects, brownfield upgrades, support infrastructure, flowlines, and pipelines, new well connections, and end of line infrastructure.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and prioritising the Project portfolio to ensure that all necessary facilities and infrastructure are delivered in time to the required quality, schedule, and cost.
- Coordination and prioritisation of Project portfolio for Risk reduction and HSE improvement program
- Ensuring all projects within the capital program are subjected to appropriate project governance as required by corporate standards
- Developing fit for purpose solutions through good engineering practice by utilising Engineering service providers and in-house engineering resources
- Ensuring all works carried out in projects is in accordance with Beach’s OEMS, internal standards, Australian Standards, and legislative requirements
- Optimising designs and business processes to drive down project cost, reduce cycle times, minimise lifecycle costs and continually improve on program performance for the capital portfolio.
- Introducing new solutions and challenge the status-quo with established solutions to improve business metrics
- Providing input into annual budget build and forward planning ensuring adherence to project planning requirements and lead in milestones.
About You
We are looking for a proactive yet pragmatic individual with considerable project engineering experience, high motivation to add value to the business and a strong track record of delivering a varied and large capital program preferably within the hydrocarbons or resources industries. You will also need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
- Extensive industry experience in engineering, design, project management, construction, and commissioning.
- Proven program/project management experience in either brownfield or greenfield development and stay in business or minor capital projects in the resources or hazardous industries sector.
- Works collaboratively and constructively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
- Ability to manage and lead direct reports, build, and manage teams to achieve business outcomes.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel to remote locations and spend time in the field as required by the position
- Current driver’s license
