Working in partnership with the NSW Government, the Parklife Metro consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.
Comprising, Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens and Webuild, the private sector partners are looking to build their metro rail expertise to deliver this city-shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership model and will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
We are currently looking to appoint an experience Senior Project Engineer to support the St Marys Project Manager.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you are responsible in assisting the Project Manager to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved
- Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model
- Ensures site specific management plans are implemented
- Monitors and controls documentation flow between Engineers, Consultants, Subcontractors and Parklife Metro JV ensuring that all parties are working from current documentation
- Ensures the construction related aspects of the project meet or exceed the required performance targets in relation to time, cost and quality
- Reviews the subcontractors construction program and assists in identifying critical areas and integrates these into the Project program
- Maintains and monitors the progress of work and advises the Area Manager of significant changes and proposed remedial action
- Manages cost control for certain aspects of the project in order to ensure the project meets its performance targets in relation to budget
- Identifies and forecasts risks and opportunities for the project package of works
- Identifies key areas of variances from the estimate
- Prepares Project reports
- Monitors cost versus budget and assesses allowances made for risk items
- Produces and distributes daily costings and identifies patterns and trends
- Reviews, recommends subcontractor and supplier progress payments and provides input to cost recoveries and subcontractor variation claims
- Conducts team/toolbox meetings and performs as a member of the team to both employees and staff
- Leads supports and manages the site staff to ensure they are fulfilling their role, responsibilities and specific tasks
- Interacts with both on site personnel and other parties in an effective manner to inspire a positive work environment
- Encourages, motivates, leads and provides skills training for on-site personnel, so as to develop and utilise the full scope of their abilities to enhance individual team performance and career opportunities
- Maintains regular site meetings to foster understanding, participation and enthusiasm
The ideal candidate will have a background in Structures & Buildings and have delivered data centres, high-rise buildings & hospitals.
In addition to the above:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
- 6+ years experience minimum within the Construction industry
- Previous exposure to building and structures projects
