About the Opportunity
Due to continued strong growth in our current pipeline of projects we are looking to complement our pre-established team with the addition of a Senior Project Engineer for our South Australian construction business. The Project Engineer is responsible for providing knowledge regarding the implementation of Project Engineering operations and/or onsite engineering services for a designated area of responsibility. The key responsibilities of the Project Engineer are to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.
Key accountabilities for the position will be:
- Day to day management of project construction activities
- Monitor and report the performance of the workforce and subcontractors on site to ensure technical, program, quality, environmental, industrial relations, safety, and commercial obligations are achieved and maintained
- Attend design reviews and provide advice relating to constructability, temporary works designs, safety, and site access and associated issues. Development, monitoring, and control of achievable project schedule
- Plan, manage, and implement the site establishment activities necessary to ensure all site-specific and contract requirements are met in terms of location, fencing, signage, environmental and traffic conditions
- Identification, analysis, and mitigation of potential risk events including establishment of a risk register and initiation of corrective action when required
- Manage changes to scope, deliverables, schedule, and budget
- Analyse variance, trends, risks and opportunities, key business drivers, and sensitivities, highlighting significant operational performance issues to management
- Ensure the environmental considerations are integral to decision-making for all construction activities
Key Competencies:
- Educational Background: Degree qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management, specifically a Bachelor of Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent people leadership, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Planning and Negotiation: Highly developed planning and negotiation abilities.
- Team Management: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
- Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering timely solutions.
