Senior Project Manager - 12 Month Contract

A large ACT government organisation is seeking aSenior Project Manager for a 12 month contract to lead the delivery of their assigned projects and work collaboratively across all areas of the organisation, including stakeholders across government to ensure effective delivery of projects and digital initiatives. This position is based in the EPMO, plays a key role in the multi-disciplinary delivery model and will require staff/team supervision and direction. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of at least 2 days in the office per week, the rest is WFH.

Responsibilities

• Take delivery responsibility for a number of mid-sized to large projects and/or digital initiatives, often concurrently, in accordance with the organisations delivery frameworks, processes and tools 
• Provide effective leadership to the multi-disciplinary teams working on the allocated projects 
• Establish and build relationships with key customer contacts and stakeholders to ensure effective engagement, communication, issue resolution and implementation of the project objectives.
• Ensure that identified risks and issues are assessed, their impact and probability are known, and mitigation strategies are developed, reported and when needed, enacted, and monitored.
• Develop and maintain essential artefacts, including Project Plans, Exception Reports, progress reports and project Risk, Issue, Action, Decision and Dependency (RAIDD) logs.
• Ensure that outcomes and benefits are forecast, planned and monitored to ensure their effective realisation.
• This position may involve direct supervision of staff.

Essential Requirements

• Highly developed knowledge and experience in the delivery of projects in two or more of the following areas: COTS implementation, ICT infrastructure commissioning, software development, strategic sourcing, and/or business improvement.
• Tertiary level qualifications and/or certification in Project Management and Program Management are highly desirable. These include one or more of: Diploma of Project Management, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner, Agile Project Management (AgilePM) Practitioner, Certified ScrumMaster, Management of Successful Programmes (MSP) Foundation
