About the Role:
As a Senior Project Manager you will oversee property redevelopment projects and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe and affordable housing solutions for the Canberra community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage design and construction projects from inception to delivery, ensuring adherence to time, cost, and scope targets.
- Oversee design and construction contracts and service agreements with consultants and contractors.
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure Delivery team and stakeholders on project design, procurement, and construction.
- Act as Principal's representative for construction and design contracts.
- Adhere to Government procurement processes and exercise appropriate delegations.
- Provide high-level customer service and administer various project tasks.
- Monitor project financials accurately and prepare necessary documentation.
Required Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in project management, delivering design and construction projects within tight deadlines and changing environments.
- Understanding of risk management in construction projects.
- Knowledge of Government procurement processes or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, delivering high-quality outputs within budget constraints.
Additional Requirements:
- Desirable qualifications: Degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management.
- Trade certification within building and infrastructure is advantageous.
- Experience or willingness to acquire skills in planning, design, or project management.
- Familiarity with ACT building and design specifications is highly desirable.
