Senior Property & Commercial Lawyer

Our multi-award-winning law firm is looking for a Senior Property & Commercial Lawyer who ticks the boxes below

• A minimum of five years PAE experience in Property and Commerical Law and a passion for all things property and commercial transactions 
• PEXA experience
• Strong drafting skills 
• Advanced communication skills, with high-level client management, demonstrating a strong understanding of the client’s business and managing/meeting the client’s expectations
• Exceptional organisational and negotiation skills
• The ability to work independently and autonomously with a strong work ethic
• High level of attention to detail
• Desire to deliver results

Everything you need to know about a typical day as New South’s newest Senior Property & Commercial Lawyer 
 

You’ll walk in and probably have a chat with your colleague over a coffee in the kitchen. See when we say we want to create a great culture, we mean it! After you settle in, this role will see you working closely with New South’s highly experienced Directors, as well as collaborating with members of the extended team. 

Leading a team of property and Commercial Lawyers, during the course of your role, you will be given the opportunity to assist in a number of property and commercial matters, as well as play a team role in large complex matters. These may include:

• Liaising with clients daily & providing solutions
• Liaising and communicating with banks, real estate agents, mortgage brokers
• Arranging settlements & drafting correspondence
• Managing residential and commercial conveyances from start to finish (both off the plan and registered properties)
• Advising businesses on a wide range of matters, including contracts, business formation, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements. This may include contracts for sales, leases, employment, partnerships, and licensing agreements. 
• Assisting with retail, commercial and industrial leases: agreement to lease, leases, incentives, assignment, surrenders, and variations
• Advising on the legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, including due diligence, negotiation of terms, drafting of transaction documents, and regulatory compliance.
