AddressWe are looking for a motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You will be responsible for estimating, managing, and administering the contractual and financial aspects of construction projects. You will monitor and advise on construction cost issues during project delivery. Your main duties will be to compile cost plans, oversee cost management, generate financial reports, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities would include the following:
- Prepare budgets and cost plans for concept design, design development and construction tender documentation.
- Interpreting, measuring of drawings and preparation of BOQ’s (Bills of Quantities) in accordance with contract specifications and method of measurement.
- Assist in the preparation and timely submission of monthly progress valuations.
- Identifying subcontractor packages and drafting of subcontract enquiries for tender purposes.
- Subcontract tender reviews, adjudication, negotiation, and finalisation.
- Subcontract administration including managing of subcontractor claims and variations.
- Preparation of monthly payments to subcontractors.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly cost and income statements.
- Reconciliation of bulk material deliveries to site against certified quantities and materials on site.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts including cash flows.
- Assist with budget preparation and budget controls.
- Undertake site visits and ensure legal compliance throughout the project delivery.
- Communicate and negotiate with the stakeholders to solve contractual and commercial issues in a timely manner.
Requirements
You will be a motivated and proactive Senior Quantity Surveyor with the right combination of energy and commitment to learning. You will bring your perspective and skills to diverse projects, and have ambition to design your own career path.
You will also have:
- Willingness to work on small- and large-scale projects either as part of a team or provide professional advice independently.
- Previous exposure to marine construction contracts will be an advantage.
- Professional registration with RICS or AIQS (or willing to become professional registered).
- Experience with estimating software such as CATProjects , Pronamics and/or CCS will be an advantage.
- The ability to develop and implement procedures for the QS function within the FSC business.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Contract Law, or relevant fields.
- 5 years of experience in the same or similar role in the construction industry in Australia.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
