About the Opportunity
Due to recent project wins, we are expanding and are growing our National MEP team. We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Senior Estimator or Senior Project Engineer with a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic background to work with our MEP Lead to ensure successful cost consulting and management of MEP services nationally.
This role will challenge and strengthen your skills with variety and autonomy, working on projects from the tallest buildings, transport and infrastructure to community and civic projects. You will work within a small collaborative team and have the opportunity to develop your consulting skills and technical knowledge within this area of expertise and progress your career.
This position could be based in either our Sydney or Melbourne offices.
Key aspects of this role include:
- Preparation of cost plans, estimates
- Progress payment recommendations
- Contract administration; pre and post contract
- Project management and delivering maximum benefit and value to our clients
- Networking and client relationship management
What does the right person look like?
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- RICS/AIQS Chartered accreditation preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of quantity surveying experience, construction management or specific technical skills relevant to the MEP systems, program of work, and discipline area
- High-level planning, development, and review of complex projects including experience in cost management, cost planning or estimating experience across a variety of property and civil infrastructure projects
- Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
- Understanding of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures
- Ability to effectively deliver packages of work for both external and internal clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a desire to work at the highest levels
- Ability to work independently and successfully resolve complex project situations
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and experience using CostX or an equivalent program
