About Us

St Bart’s is a Western Australian not-for-profit organisation founded in 1963 as a small homeless shelter for men. For over 60 years, we have been standing by the side of vulnerable Western Australians experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, mental health challenges, trauma and hardship. Since our foundation, we have evolved into a larger organisation that provides progressive, person-centred, and trauma-informed recovery support to people in need, regardless of background, age, gender, or ethnicity.

About the role

As the cliché goes, this is a challenging but extremely rewarding role. The team at our Cannington accommodation units makes a meaningful impact in the lives of our residents everyday by providing trauma informed support that is focused on the person not the diagnosis. 

This position is a permanent, full-time opportunity working either 9.00am – 5.00pm or 8.30pm-4.30pm Monday to Friday. 

As the Senior Recovery Worker you will be responsible for, 

• Assessing the eligibility and suitability of referrals, coordinating new admissions in consultation with the Regional Manager Mental Health – South 
• Providing supervision to a small team 
• Supporting, St Bart's consumers experiencing mental health challenges and homelessness.
• Managing incidents, complaints and conducting risk assessments and management. 

Taking into consideration the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful applicant the base salary offered for this position spans from $82,043 - $88,287 per annum plus superannuation.

About you

Our ideal candidate has a tertiary qualification (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Social Science, Community Services, or a similar discipline and has previous experience working within a supported accommodation setting and with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health and other personal or social challenges. 

We are also looking for someone with an understanding of assessment, planning and case management and an applied knowledge of recovery principles and trauma informed practice.

• The successful candidate must also have or be willing to obtain:
• A Current satisfactory National Police Certificate
• A Current First Aid Certificate
• A current WA “C” Class Driver’s License.
