About the role
Are you passionate about shaping the Skills and education sector? We’re seeking a skilled Senior Researcher – Skills and Labour Market to contribute to our organisation’s Skills and industry analysis and market insights to inform how we plan our training to meet the needs of learners, industry and communities across NSW. As a research and insights expert (internally known as Senior Analyst - Training Segments), you’ll play a pivotal role in aligning our training portfolio with industry needs and the demand for skills. Your responsibilities include undertaking comprehensive secondary desktop research and contributing to the development of industry and skills strategies aligned with TAFE NSW’s strategic directions and government priorities.
About You
Ideally, you will be able to draw on knowledge of the tertiary education sector and/or industries and changing Skills and Labour Market trends.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Strong written communication skills, creativity and attention to detail for conducting comprehensive research using a range of sources.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting thorough desktop research and analysing skills, industries and/or training needs (or be able to apply solid research skills from a different sector to the education sector).
- Proven ability to provide evidence-based strategic advice and recommendations through quality written reports and briefings.
- Strong knowledge of developing strategies for key training delivery segments (e.g., priority or emerging sectors).
- Effective collaboration with the Manager – Research and Planning to evaluate external industry trends and government priorities.
