Where you'll be working
The Maternity and Gynaecology Service based at John Hunter Hospital under the Hunter New England Health District. The Maternity and Gynaecology Service has 48 Obstetric beds (with an additional 15 flexible beds) and performs 4,300 deliveries per annum. We offer world class facilities that are constantly growing and expanding to include new and better training and service provision. What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) in Maternity and Gynaecology is to provide clinical care, under appropriate supervision, to women requiring planned and emergency medical services in a complex clinical environment. This position will provide experience in a critical care environment and have responsibilities and opportunities for autonomous practice commensurate with the level of experience of the medical officer.
- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
- Adept ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team.
- Adept written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and others members of the health care team.
- Adept good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
