About the role:
This position is responsible for overseeing the City’s risk management framework, systems and processes to ensure the City is effectively managing risk and is otherwise compliant with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and embedding the City’s risk management framework.
- Developing and maintaining the City’s risk registers and risk reporting.
- Working with senior stakeholders to identify, assess, mitigate, monitor and report on risk.
- Providing expert advice and delivering training to embed a robust risk culture across the City.
The person:
We are seeking applicants with:
- Previous experience in a risk and governance related function, and a pragmatic approach to risk management.
- Experience developing and embedding risk and compliance frameworks and systems.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with positive interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality written documentation.
- Experience in a local government context preferred but not essential.
- Tertiary degree in risk, compliance, business or related field or equivalent experience.
The successful applicant will also need a ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence and be able to provide a National Police Clearance no more than 6 months old.
