Catholic Education has a network of 18 Catholic schools in the Northern Territory - five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre and five remote schools.
The Role:
The Senior School Psychologist provides services to Catholic Education schools of the Northern Territory as ongoing Clinical Supervision as part of the multidisciplinary Inclusion Support Services team. The Inclusion Support Services team is part of the broader range of supports and services available within the Catholic Education Office.
Essential Criteria:
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Knowledge of the current Australian Government and CENT policies, including those relating to the Disability Standards for Education and an understanding of the education of students with special needs;
- Excellent knowledge of current curriculum, theory and practice in relation to special needs programs and assessment tools;
- Demonstrated awareness of the social, economic and cultural diversity within the NT;
- Professional knowledge and skills in administering, scoring and interpreting appropriate screeners and diagnostic assessments;
- Manage and participate in special projects or committees as directed by Leader of Inclusion Support Services (LISS) & Deputy Director Teaching and Learning (DD/T&L)
- Commitment to Catholic Education Vision and Mission;
- Proven capacity to work effectively with students with disabilities and their families, and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and parents;
- Communication skills of a high order, clear record of effective task completion and self-reliance;
- Ability to organise own work, to work independently and to work effectively with colleagues as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- NT Working with Children Clearance or application for such;
- Australian Driver’s Licence.
Qualifications required:
- Registered as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- NT Ochre Card.
This position involves working with children. The appointment of the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment with legislation.
