Senior Scientific Consultant Queensland - Water
An opportunity exists for a degree-qualified professional with a 4+ year background in water quality, chemistry, microbiology, or related field to join the CETEC team in our Queensland Office.
The role will require, investigation, interpretation of relevant legislation, liaising with clients and stakeholders, field work, sampling and testing, report writing, preparation of quotes and an active understanding of industry trends.
As a consultant at CETEC you will help deliver a wide variety of projects which will draw on your skill to assess biological, physical and chemical risks. For this role you will be expected to undergo specialised training around the built environment. The position requires both interstate and international travel for some projects with a duration of a couple of days to up to two weeks. When travel conditions allow, the QLD team delivers projects in Australia, Asia and Europe.
The candidate we are looking for has the following attributes:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong academic record.
- Ability to apply scientific knowledge and principles to real-world problems.
- The ability to work independently and within a team.
- Applicants with an understanding or background in dangerous goods, hazardous materials, water quality, occupational hygiene and/or indoor air quality would be highly regarded.
- Applicants who have completed a Master of Occupational Hygiene will be highly regarded.
- The candidate must have a valid Australian driver’s license.

Experience: Bachelor Degree related to Environmental Science and at least 4 years of experience in the Scientific Environmental Professional Consulting.
