As a result of continued success this privately owned freight forwarder and customs brokerage has a need to add an experienced Seafreight Operator who has a strong focus on customer service.
The Position
- Communicate with clients, carriers and suppliers to negotiate rate agreements
- Process of import transactions including LCL, FCL and FAK shipments
- Co-ordinate the import sea process from shipper to consignee
- Ensure transshipment freight is processed effectively to minimise delays
- Reconcile carrier invoices against agreed client rates
- Assist with cartage co-ordination
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve service issues promptly and efficiently
- Escalate unresolved shipment issues to the manager for assistance
To be considered for this role you require:
- Proven sea freight experience
- Flexibility to assist other teams as required
- Positive and outgoing team player attitude
- Strong and effective communication style
- Corporate presentation skills
