The Senior Engineer/Architect performs design and network lifecycle activities (consulting, project and level 3 support) related to the deployment and operations of security technologies within existing and new client environments.
This position is accountable for the overall architecture/design and successful deployment of systems, tools and processes that provide industry best practice implementations and other associated support services.
The successful candidate will be required to act as a security technology specialist, with a focus on Network Threat Detection and Response (NDR) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR). As such, the position requires an excellent knowledge of network and infrastructure topologies and enterprise and Telecommunications network technologies along with a competent understanding of applications and infrastructure technologies.
The role is multi-disciplinary in that it requires that you have good hands-on experience in security technologies and operations with exposure in pre-sales and professional services. Flexibility in both network and infrastructure security capability is key.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Industry based technical qualification (degree preferred) or equivalent experience
- Cisco CCNP or CCIE Security
- Or related Engineering discipline
- Penetration Testing
- Vulnerability Management
- Firewalls & IDS/IPS
- Vendor certified/qualified

- In-depth knowledge of security technology including firewalls, web proxy, anti-malware, antivirus, endpoint security, load balancing, DDOS, IPVPN, IPS/IDS, IPSEC
EXPERIENCE
- Five years of experience in the build and configuration of network infrastructure including IP networking, networking protocols, and security (including IPsec, firewalls, proxy services, DNS, and encryption) and possess industry-recognised certification.
- Experience working with internet, web and application security issues and threats.
- Security platforms build and administration (firewalls and network intrusion detection) experience.
- Knowledge about common types of Information Security threats and techniques used to compromise security and experience with system, security and network risk management practices / procedures (eg ISO27001) and tools to manage corporate and enterprise environments.
- Two year's experience with a managed services or system integrator environment.
- Experience in liaising with middle and senior management.
- Experience in deployment and operations within a large-scale network environment.
- Experience with Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) products
- Architecture and design experience in Networking, Cloud and Security.
- Product development and /or client design experience.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skill
- High level of interpersonal skills and team skills
