About the Role
The Senior Officer, Settlements role is responsible for providing banking and settlement services, ensuring the safe custody of securities holdings, and maintaining appropriate banking arrangements.
This position is central to the day-to-day operations of the banking and settlements team, as it serves as one of the first points of receipt for transactions from the Front Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Settlement confirmations: review and forward settlement confirmations to clients.
- Processing/ authorisation /reconciliation of transactions.
- Create and send payements
- Process daily cash sweep.
- Process cash movements as required.
- Reconciliation of accounts.
- Assist in process improvement recommendations/implementation.
- Ensure process procedures are in place and updated as necessary.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, preferably in Business, Commerce, or Finance.
- 5+ years' experience in a similar position
- Understanding of Treasury and Financial Markets.
- Understanding of financial instruments including derivatives.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
