Job description

You will be working for a dynamic FinTech with offices in North Sydney, that offers a broad range of end-to-end financial services to the non-bank market and work with a variety of Australian businesses in different industries.

As a Senior Settlements Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the origination of Equipment Finance transactions by ensuring that all new loans are efficiently and accurately originated with meticulous attention to compliance and legal requirements. You will also assist with maintaining and improving business processes related to the settlement of Equipment Finance transactions while paying attention to risk factors inherent during the process.

This is an end-to-end stand-alone role in the Equipment Finance Team but the company has plans to grow quickly, so the role will develop into a Team Lead/Manager’s role with people management responsibility.

The role:
Responsible for facilitating the preparation of all legal documentation relating to equipment finance loans, as well as creating & managing related data on the loan management system
Responsible for registering security interests related to equipment finance loans, ensuring the relevant security interest is taken for the security of the loan
Responsible for managing the supplier verification processes related to equipment finance settlements, verifying funding transactions and that suppliers are genuine in relation to the equipment being purchased
Liaise directly with clients, suppliers/vendors & brokers for coordination of settlements
Work with internal teams to assist with design, implementation & maintenance of automated & manual settlement processes which facilitate efficiency and speed of settlement
Work closely with the facilitations team to facilitate and aid the documentation, system set up, and ultimate settlement of multi-product loans that include equipment finance
You will seek to understand and promote the key attributes of the various finance products relative to competitors
You will be a brand ambassador and will constantly strive for process improvement, specifically speed and accuracy

To be successful in this role, you must have the following essential criteria:
A Graduate with a degree in Finance, Business or Economics is preferred
At least 5 years hands on experience managing Equipment Finance settlements operations
At least 7 years’ experience working in a commercial lending environment
Experience gained in a non-bank lending environment would be useful
First class communication skills both written and verbal with an ability to influence a team to achieve strategic goals
Excellent understanding of process and procedural efficiency and how to make constant improvements to business processes and procedures
An eye for detail with a strong aptitude for reviewing legal documentation
Experience working as the point of escalation within a team
Some Team Lead/People management experience would be advantageous for future career growth
