This exciting and rewarding position includes providing specialist support for adult and child victims of interpersonal violence and has the challenge of co-ordinating the operational aspects of the 24/7 On-call IVAN Crisis Response Service operating via the Bathurst Hospital Emergency Department.
This service provides trained staff to respond 24/7 for victims of violence abuse and neglect, including for medical forensic care and treatment, working closely with other health staff and external agencies such as Police and Department of Communities and Justice. This position will play an integral part in the expansion of the IVAN crisis response service to rural and remote sites in WNSWLHD.
Based at beautiful Bathurst and travelling to smaller surrounding rural and remote towns to expand and establish IVAN Assessment Centres across WNSWLHD. Formally known as the On-call Sexual Assault Service until a recent restructure and expansion to include 24/7 crisis response for all victims of violence, abuse and neglect.
The IVAN Crisis Response Service is in the Integrated PARVAN & Women’s Health portfolio and works closely with the other teams, Sexual Assault and the Joint Child Protection Response Program, the Child Protection and Domestic & Family Violence team and Women’s Health team. WNSWLHD has 4 x 24/7 IVAN Crisis Response Medical Forensic Services and 6 x Sexual Assault Assessment Centres (expanding to 10) and is an exciting team to be part of as there are constant improvements in service provisions, including the ever changing and exciting field of forensic services. We are proud of the standardised practice we maintain and the very best client-centred trauma-informed service provision across all sites in WNSWLHD. We often work closely with the Ministry of Health with quality improvement projects.
