The Opportunity
The International Shipping and Logistics Officer is primarily responsible for the handling of shipping, chartering and operational activities of all MPP break bulk and containers for import.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of all charter parties, booking notes, handling of vessel operations, coordination of loading and discharge ports plus agent nomination for all project shipments
- All break bulk and container bookings for entire group, including all operations, scheduling and updates
- Provide shipping updates and forecast to the group on a regular basis
- Provide shipping related cost information to relevant project managers
- Responsible for all non-dry bulk shipping operational activities
- Arrange and coordinate all shipping documentation for non-dry bulk import and export shipments
- Developing shipment schedules, coordinate and closely communicate with the ports, shipping brokers and agents to ensure appropriate shipping activities take place as planned
What is required
- Relevant degree / qualification highly regarded
- Minimum 5-year experience in similar role and industry
- Good understanding of international shipping terms and regulations
- Vessel operations knowledge
- High degree of capability with Microsoft software
- Ability to work under pressure
- Commitment to provide excellent customer service and communication skills
- A good team player
