AddressIn Country Logistics Specialist shall support In Country Logistics Manager to implement & coordinate the specific logistics linked to importation and exportation of Material, Equipment and Vessels.
In Country Logistics Specialist should have comprehensive knowledge of customs regulations, transit and Freight Forwarding to and from Turkey in order to support the efficient, timely and accurate delivery of Logistics services during project execution.
What will you be doing?
- Focal Point to overseas customs clearance of material, equipment, and vessel into / from Turkey.
- Responsible for ensuring documentation is correct from origin prior to shipment, identifying import customs regimes, liaising with internal stakeholders, local subcontractors, local authorities to ensure the timely and efficient customs clearance process.
- Responsible for interface with clients (as required) to import of material, equipment, and vessel into / from the country of operation.
- Support Logistics activities in country of operation. (Freight Forwarding, Shipping agency, transportation, handling, storage, customs clearance...).
- Work with 3 rd Party vessel Owners and Subcontractors, to ensure vessels, Material & Equipment are imported, exported according to the Project's Requirements.
- Monitor and guide on evolution of laws, decrees, related to logistics and customs in country of operation.
- Responsible for maintaining a clear electronic database for all material movements into / from / within area of operation including copies of all associated customs documentation, shipping documents and supplier invoices.
- Daily control and follow up of requests, files, monitor and anticipate workload for in country organization.
- Ensure compliance with company rules pertaining to cost commitments and cost control.
- Ensure all logistics tasks are anticipated, prepared, monitored and performed safely and efficiently.
- Focal Point for the importation/exportation of vessels, material and equipment, transfer to worksites.
- Maintaining and developing collaborative relationships with local logistics subcontractors.
- Potential missions, site visits during mobilization/Demobilization phases of Construction vessels, if required.
What experience would we like you to have?

- Previous experience in Logistics Supervisory / Lead role.
- Previous In Country experience in a similar position.
- Sigificant knowledge of customs regulations, transit, shipping rules and marine regulations in Turkey.
- Good understanding of Cost Control and recording costs.
- Effective time management abilities paired with proficient communication capabilities.
- Able to work in a time-sensitive setting
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
Desirable
- Knowledge of Freezone Customs will be valuable.
- Knowledge of SAP Software
