Reports To: Managing Director

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Primary Location: Kippa-Ring, QLD

 

Position Summary:

The Senior Sleep Therapistplays a pivotal role for Sleep Connect Australia Pty Ltd, leading andoverseeing the therapy and administrative team. This position is critical forensuring the delivery of high-quality sleep care to patients with obstructivesleep apnoea and other sleep-related disorders. The intention of this positionis to foster an environment of patient centric care and operational excellence,while continuing to promote sales ensuring the continued commercial success ofthe organisation.

Responsibilities for this roleinclude but are not limited to supervising staff, coordinating patient careactivities, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines, and maintaining thehighest standards of safety and effectiveness in the sleep therapy servicesprovided.

The ideal candidate shouldpossess a deep understanding of sleep disorders and their respective treatmentas well as the requirements for day-to-day operation of a sleep clinic. Theyshould be adept at problem-solving, with an ability to lead by example, promoteteamwork, and effectively communicate with both staff and patients.

This role is not only aboutmanaging the day-to-day operations of the CPAP therapy team but also aboutbeing a catalyst for positive change through quality improvement initiatives. TheSenior Sleep Therapist is a role that offers the opportunity to make asignificant impact on patient outcomes and the overall success of ourhealthcare services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Leadership and Supervision

    • Lead and supervise the team of Sleep therapists and administration staff ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical guidelines.
    • Coordinate rostering, assign tasks, and manage workload distribution among team members.
    • Identify and lead opportunities to improve day-to-day operations and systems to support efficient and effective delivery of services with measurable improvements in key performance metrics and patient outcomes.
    • Conduct team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, provide feedback and identify areas for improvement in both employee and customer experience.
    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators for each team member to assist in evaluating both team and individual performance.

     

    Patient Care

      • Provide expert care in sleep therapy, including patient assessment, troubleshooting, ongoing support and follow-up.
      • Where applicable, the above should be in accordance with the treating Sleep Physician’s direction.
      • Educate patients and their families on CPAP therapy, equipment uses, and care.
      • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

      Training and Development

        • Identify and implement training programs for new and existing staff on CPAP therapy techniques and equipment.
        • Coach team members to enhance their skills and professional development.
        • Develop policies, procedures and work instructions to support the effective delivery of services and the appropriate maintenance of quality documents and records.
        • Stay updated with the latest products and technology in OSA therapy and provide recommendations to the Managing Director to consider integrating them into the patient offering.

        Quality Assurance and Compliance

          • Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and standards.
          • Implement quality control measures and conduct audits to maintain high standards of care.
          • Oversee the resolution of any issues or complaints related to the service.

          Other

            • Oversee the effective management of equipment and inventory ensuring systems are in place for ordering, servicing and disinfection of clinical equipment and products.
            • Identify, recommend and (where required) arrange for changes in clinic fit out/ design.
            • Other duties as directed by Manager.

             

            Qualifications:

            1. Experience
            • At least 5 years of experience in sleep therapy, with a deep understanding of both diagnostic and therapy pathways
            • Previous experience in a Senior Sleep Therapist role is preferred.
          1. Skills and Abilities
            • Strong leadership and team management skills.
            • Organisational and time-management skills including ability to delegate tasks to optimize team performance.
            • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
            • Proficient in the use of CPAP equipment and familiarity with all units and masks available for patient use.
            • Strong computer literacy and understanding of different ERP and CRM software as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
            • Decision-making skills
            • Adaptable and flexible attitude to meet business needs with a willingness and ability to bring new ideas to existing processes to bring value to the business.
            • Commitment to ongoing professional development

            Working Conditions:

            This position is patient facingand does not offer a working from home (WFH) arrangement without prior approvalfrom the Managing Director.

            Additional Requirements:

            Travel and attendance atindustry conferences/ events that occur outside of usual working hours may berequired.
