Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions

Prosecution Officer (Administrative) Level 6

Full-time ongoing position

Sydney CBD location

$149,620. Package includes salary ($120,859 - $133,183 p.a.), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is the independent prosecuting authority of New South Wales (NSW) and is responsible for the prosecution of all serious offences committed against the laws of the State on behalf of the people of NSW. Our vision is to be a dynamic prosecution service recognised for its excellence and leadership.

An opportunity is available for a Senior Software Analyst to join our Information Management and Technology team. This is a varied role with the opportunity to develop, maintain and implement new/custom technology systems and provide senior support to enterprise applications across the ODPP.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Provide technical expertise on applications, products, systems and/or databases within the ODPP.
  • Proactively identify business risks and opportunities to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting and escalating issues, including proactive problem resolution and complex problem analysis as necessary, to maintain system performance to meet user demand.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide technical support.
  • Contribute to building technical system capability by researching and recommending technical solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the ODPP Technical roadmap.

Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Microsoft systems, applications and tools, and in designing systems for flexibility, usability and performance, and developing and maintaining technical documentation, standards and procedures.
  • Experience in modern project management methodologies (DevOps, Agile development) including continuous improvement/continuous development processes and systems.
  • Advanced skills in scripting and testing tools (Powershell, Visual Basic).
  • Strong data and business analytical skills, with proven ability to quickly gain sound understanding of business practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills to deliver a high level of customer service and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Some experience in coaching and/or mentoring a small team is preferred.
