Position Overview:
A rolling 6-month contract with a successful IT Services & Consultancy business. Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible for the development, design, and implementation of new or modified software products or ongoing business projects.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs.
- Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.
- Integrate software components and third-party programs.
- Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications.
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software.
- Testing and evaluating new programs.
- Verify and deploy programs and systems.
- Working closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts.
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
- Training users.
- Gather and evaluate user feedback.
- Recommend and execute improvements.
- Any other task or activity requested for which the incumbent has the skills and knowledge.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment.
- Knowledge of coding languages (i.e. C# ,JavaScript, PowerShell, T-SQL) and frameworks/systems (i.e. .NET, Blazor, Angular, WinForms, Git).
- Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.
- Experience working with DevOps & Azure environment.
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Attention to detail.
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge and interest in computer systems and the latest technologies.
- The ability to learn new technologies.
- The ability to communicate complex procedures to other colleagues.
- Commercial and business awareness.
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Acceptable National Police Clearance.
