The role:

The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for designing, development and maintenance of software applications within Frontline Applications stream. You will need to collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, help architect solutions and implement scalable and high-performance software. This is a full-time permanent position based in our Head Office in Belmont.

Some of the responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex software solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and adhere to best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse software requirements, providing technical expertise across the full software development lifecycle process.
  • Utilize expertise in programming languages used to build robust and scalable backend systems.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented team culture.
  • Lead discussions on architecture and design decisions, ensuring alignment with project goals and scalability requirements.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups.
  • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and the identification of potential issues.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner, providing technical support to resolve production problems.
  • Implement updates and patches to address security vulnerabilities, improve functionality, and enhance overall system stability

Skills and Attributes required:

  • Strong understanding of software development best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in C# .NET programming language
  • Extensive experience with software development frameworks and tools.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Solid understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (Angular, Vue).

Experience and qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Software Developer, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Track record of successfully delivering complex software solutions.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
