My client is an established start up that combines 20 years of business consulting experience with a team of technology specialists focusing on BI, Analytics & Cloud Platform solutions for the Built Environment (ByltInsyte), Manufacturing and Zero Emissions projects. My client is based in the Shoreditch technology hub and work with clients in the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
They deliver technology solutions that are accessible to organisations of all shapes and sizes with first-class customer service from the first conversation. Listening to and understanding the customer is paramount. It is fundamental that my client now begin to expand the team with individuals who not only have the right skills to support the business going forward but that also have the right attitude, commitment, and drive to drive the business and themselves.
The role:
As my clients’ platforms and solutions become larger and more complex, my client is keen to bring someone into the team with a minimum 5 years of practical experience developing, testing, and deploying production backend software.
In this role you can expect to spend 50% of your time hands-on developing code across my clients’ core platforms with the remaining 50% spent supporting and mentoring their development team and helping them implement robust practices for agile development, review, testing and deployment.
My client is an entrepreneurial team with varying levels of experience but a consistently high level of passion and desire to learn, develop and deliver great solutions to their clients. They would like to introduce good standards and work practices without stifling the enthusiasm and creatively that has got us to their current position.
Their platforms largely follow a microservices architecture and all my cleints’ development is in Python with FastAPI as their primary API technology. They work with a frontend development partner for all things React.
They currently use Azure exclusively and utilise a range of services with database technologies including MongoDB (CosmosDB), MS SQL and DataBricks. They use GitLab for versioning and CICD, and Jira for development management.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
You will:
- Have a degree relevant to the role, e.g., Computer Science.
- Have at least 5-years commercial development experience with Python
- Have practical experience with:
- The majority of the technologies listed above
- Working with a microservices architecture
- And be highly proficient in:
- Developing well structured, modular, and tested code cases
- Used in the deployment of large-scale cloud solutions
- Incorporating security best-practices
- With a focus on software durability
- Have a pragmatic view on how to implement robust practices into their organisation
- Be a team player and work collaboratively
- Be a mentor and be passionate about sharing your knowledge with their developing team
- Have good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a desire to take on responsibilities beyond hands-on Software Engineering/development
