Job description

Wanted: Skilled draftsperson or spatial professionals looking to use Western Australia’s location information to aid development across the state.

About the role

We’re looking for people to join the Geospatial team at Landgate, utilising a broad range of location information to provide services to meet the needs of the Western Australian community. 

We carry out work that enables and supports Local Governments and State legislative and Crown land development processes. 

As a Senior Spatial Officer, your role will entail: 

  • Drafting Statutory, Subdivisional and Interest Only Deposited Plans for Crown Land 
  • Drafting Concept Plans / Sketches 
  • Preparing technical descriptions of land and administrative boundaries 
  • Researching and investigating historical data to determine accurate solutions 
  • Ensuring outcomes align with relevant legislation, policy, procedures and guidelines 
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, please demonstrate:

  • Extent of your previous survey/cadastral drafting experience and cartographic presentation skills (Proficiency in MicroStation or ESRI ArcGIS Pro is desirable) 
  • Sound research and investigative skills and excellent attention to detail 
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving ability 
  • Previous experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policy, procedures or specifications 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

Vacancies will be offered on a permanent or fixed term basis. We currently have 2 positions to fill from this pool. If a similar vacancy in a similar location becomes available in the next 12 months, applicants deemed suitable via this process may be considered.
