Overview
Our client is looking for a Senior Specialist Optimization Control Systems Engineer to join their Perth based team, working across various exciting projects within the Mining industry.
Offered on an initial 12-month contract, the role will predominantly involve design, monitoring and optimizing automated systems across there mining division.

Duration - 12 Month Initial Contract
Responsibilities
- Monitoring automated systems via SCADA and PLC and implementing optimisation PLC/DCS code
- Astute knowledge of minerals processing and automated systems
- Experience of VSD control and instrumentation operation to help support optimisation.
- Development of control system design and implementation deliverables, including Requirements Specifications, Scopes of Work, Functional Specifications and Test documentation.
- Project studies and concept designs including estimating, architecture development, control philosophies and prototyping.
- Active participation in HAZOPs and Risk Assessments.
- Delivering complex control system designs on key industrial projects.
- PLC and HMI development and testing.
- Interface with vendors to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Attendance at panel factory acceptance testing and vendor integration testing.
- Some ad-hoc, short term on-site commissioning (various locations).
- Promotion of Safety in Design on control system projects.
- Process Control Specialist with plant optimisation experience
About you
- Experience in significant control system design and execution projects.
- Good understanding of P&ID control philosophies in automation
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of the team.
- Proven successful delivery of control system projects in the mining industry.
- A desire for personal development and a keen eye for detail.
- A focus on quality and performance.
- Schneider M340/M580 and/or Rockwell ControlLogix PLC development experience required.
- Experience with materials handling and commissioning is required.
- CitectSCADA experience ideal.
- Experience with multidisciplinary design interfaces (particularly electrical and mechanical) required.
- Functional Safety experience beneficial.
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering degree qualification recognized by Engineers Australia.
- Functional Safety certification (Beneficial)
