About the Role:
As a Senior Speech Language Pathologist (Supervisory)you will be responsible for providing leadership and clinical supervision to school-based Speech Language Pathologists in the delivery of safe, effective high-quality services to support children and students to access and fully participate in their learning.
Metropolitan North Region is seeking to fill a temporary Senior Speech Language Pathologist (Supervisory) vacancy. Please note that this recruitment process will be utilised for any recurring temporary or permanent vacancies which may arise in the next 12 months.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Provide leadership and clinical supervision to school-based Speech Language Pathologists aligned with the Therapist Clinical Supervision Guidelines.
  • Provide induction and on-boarding to school-based Speech Language Pathologists new to the role in collaboration with the school-based line manager and Senior Advisor, Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Identify and respond to professional, organisational and personal learning needs of school-based Speech Language Pathologists.
Mandatory requirements;
  • A relevant degree in Speech Pathology from a recognised tertiary institution, or other qualification which in the opinion of the Director-General, department of Education, or delegate, are acceptable.
  • Eligibility for certified practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • This position may require the incumbent to operate a government vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. (Queensland ‘C” class license).
  • The incumbent is required to work throughout the service area of the position's base location (Nundah/North Lakes Regional Office). This area will include Northern Brisbane to Caboolture.
