About the role:

You will have the opportunity to visit some of Australia’s most unique country, bringing services to children and families in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and remote communities in Central Australia.

Since 2010, our NT team have passionately supported children and families, continuing to grow through integrity, commitment, innovation, and excellence.  As part of one of the largest and longest established teams in the territory, you will provide culturally sensitive, client and family centred services, in collaboration with the community around the child. 

You will be supported to grow and develop services, with a focus on capacity building supports for children, families, along with community and stakeholder development projects. You will also be an essential part of our Indigenous Allied Health assistant service development.

With a supportive administration and leadership team, you will have the space to do what you do best.  This role offers flexibility, support and the autonomy to really make it your own!  

What you’ll do:

  • Provide culturally sensitive, evidence-informed therapy and capacity building supports for children families and communities
  • Work within the multidisciplinary team of local and interstate practitioners, to provide integrated, keyworker supports for children, families and communities
  • Provide a mix of capacity building, coaching, 1:1 and small group therapy supports, education, consultation and wrap around supports
  • Provide services in a variety of locations

About you:

This position is offered on a full-time or part-time basis for an experienced Senior Speech Pathologist with:

  • An understanding of the intricacies of supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology
  • Exceptional communication skills that enable you to work in a culturally rich and diverse environment and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Experience in working with children and/or in the disability sector and confidence in your role working closely with their families is highly valued
  • Compliance – SPA registration, current Ochre card, National Police Check, NDIS workers screening check, First Aid Training, Driver’s License & Vehicle
