About the Role

  • The role will be a 12 months Fixed Term.
  • The role can be based in Canada (Saskatoon) or Australia (Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide), or with flexible work arrangements available.

The Senior Sponsorships Advisor supports BHP's reputation through the creation and ongoing management of the Global Sponsorships Strategy and Framework.
This is a critical role within Corporate Communications, to build BHP's brand and extend the reputation of the company.

In this role, you will:

  • Define BHP's Global Sponsorship Strategy through identify key goals including brand visibility and reputational impacts, supported by market research.
  • Develop a standardised framework to support the implementation of and alignment to the Global Sponsorship Strategy in existing and new markets.
  • Research, evaluate and make recommendations to the Manager Brand and VP Corporate Communications for commercial sponsorship opportunities in each region which align with the Global Sponsorship Strategy.
  • Manage global sponsorship opportunities within the allocated budget, including negotiation and activation to garner reputation benefits for BHP consistent with the Global Sponsorship Strategy.
  • Analyse and respond to unsolicited sponsorship opportunities presented to senior Leadership (C Level).
  • Provide guidance to the organisation through a Global Sponsorship Framework to ensure BHP maximises its commercial sponsorship investment.
  • Track and monitor the effectiveness of key sponsorships in each region through brand awareness and campaign monitoring.
About You
  • Sponsorship management experience, preferably within large corporates or global organizations
  • Solid Brand strategy and management experience
  • Proven Strategic planning and project management skills
  • Commercially astute, budget development, financial management and reporting skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong decision-making ability and capacity to exercise sound judgement and diplomacy.
  • Exceptional time management, attention to detail and logistical skill
  • Excellent communication skills
