Maroondah City Councils Statutory Planning Team is committed to continuous improvement, quality customer service and is focussed on facilitating sound planning outcomes.
This position would suit an experienced planner wanting to work across a diverse range of projects including commercial land use assessments, residential developments and urban design analysis, to more intensive developments in the Ringwood Metropolitan Activity Centre.
The role offers responsibility and variety for a Statutory Planning professional interested in liaising directly with customers, providing advice and guidance on permit queries as well as undertaking site inspections and reporting on Council requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Tertiary qualification in urban and regional Planning.
Experience in local government statutory planning.
Good knowledge and understanding of statutory procedures pertaining to the Planning and Environment Act (including planning schemes), Subdivision Act, Liquor Control Act, the Local Government Act and the Gaming Control Act.
Demonstrated high-level oral and written communication skills along with analytical and investigative skills.
Experience and willingness to mentor staff.
