We are seeking a Senior Statutory Plannerto join our supportive and inclusive Planning Services team until 31 January 2025. You will contribute to the ongoing operation of a successful, coordinated planning approvals service for Nillumbik; facilitate appropriate development and land use outcomes for the Shire by administering the Nillumbik Planning Scheme and all relevant Acts; and provide sound professional town planning advice to customers of the unit.
What you'll bring to the role;
- Experience in facilitating effective and appropriate planning outcomes which accord with the Planning and Environment Act and other related legislation or Council policy, and within agreed timeframes or in accordance with statutory limitations
- Proven ability to negotiate innovative and practical solutions to issues arising from development applications and related processes, applying knowledge and experience to new situations and problems
- Ability to work collaboratively and assist in the analysis of processes and to contribute to the identification of improvements
- Well-developed ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills to achieve appropriate planning outcomes in accordance with relevant Council policy and planning scheme provisions.

Temporary full-time parental leave cover position until 31 January 2025, commencing as soon as practicable. Competitive remuneration package of $102,982 to $112,058 total remuneration per annum (dependant on experience) that includes 11% super, annual leave loading and monthly RDOs.
