Right now, we have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Stores Leader (Reliability or Mechanical Engineer) to join our Engineering Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day function of the Mill stores as well as providing technical and Logistics expertise in the leading the Mill Engineering Stores team; Providing in-depth data analyses and resolving specific Engineering Stores issues; Providing a positive and continuos improvement stores culture to support the Mill customers (Reliability and Operations Teams); Being capable of undertaking all the Stores roles and functions; Leading and en

suring material inventory management occurs and is in-line with Business Financial regulations. 

The Stores team look after multiple stores at the Mill as well as Free Issue (Vendor managed stores).

You’ll also have the opportunity to:

  • Provide team leadership in accordance with the KC Ways of Working and Continuous Improvement to support the Mill Engineering Stores.  Also providing consistent stores team coverage of stores and functions to support the Mill.

  • Achieve a safe and clean Stores operating environment by promoting safe engineering practices and applying the KCC EHS and Loss Control Management System Principles as required.  Ensuring hopusekeepign standards are maintained and equipment is in good condition for use within the Mill.

  • Achieve significant improvements in Stores accuracy and inventory control functions.  Ensure correct record retention and reconcile transaction discurepancies and physical inventory counts.

  • Comply with corporate policies, procedures and Mill & Global Stores guidelines Maintain knowledge of current stores logisitics and technologies to ensure maximum advantage to the business through application of technical know-how.

  • Using a One-Mill philosophy to drive standardisation across the Engineering stores and Free Issue stores.  Maintaining adequate levels of safety stock materials and identifying and resolving Obsolete or excess materials.  Working with procurement to resolve supply chain issues and identifying alternate parts as required to support the Mill.

  • Use Reliability philosophies and simple Problem Solving / 4SPS to support asset component life and improving asset Life Cycle costs through improved Engineering Spares/ Reparables or Rotable spares.

  • Provide clear communication and training of Stores and Non-Store personnel where applicable on established methods and transactions to improve stores effectiveness..

About You:

  • You are someone that is in a similar capacity role and will bring forward 3 - 5 years of technical / Stores Logistics experience in a Manufacturing environment or related industries.

  • You have experience and capability in leading small teams; Knowledge and experience in Engineering Stores inventory management processes; Reliability focused understanding of Engineering spares and impact on operating assets; And the desire for improvement to create a more competitive future by finding opportunities and relentlessly pursuing them.

  • You have demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams - you are able to manage multiple stakeholders cross functionally, and are able to articulate and identify business priorities, drivers, risks and opportunities.

  • You are customer focused; as we put the customer at the heart in everything that we do, you will need to have sound customer liaison skills, coupled with influencing and negotiation skills.

  • You are a team player, and you bring froward your great communication as well as stakeholder management skills and apply your commercial and systematic acumen towards achieving the results.

  • Together with your skills and experience, you hold a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Reliability Engineering / or Engineering Spares Logistics.
